Frequently Asked Questions

What are your qualifications?

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and have a Masters In Social Work (MSW) as well as a Bachelors of Science (BS) in Family Studies. I have been a practicing individual and couples therapist for over fifteen years, working in community mental health and outpatient hospital settings. I am certified in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and have received extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Do you offer Telehealth? What about in person?

My office location is in Arlington, MA. For those unable to come in person to my office, I utilize an online platform that allows for HIPAA compliant Telehealth services. For couples therapy, I do ask that both members of the couple are together in person when utilizing Telehealth.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. I am a master’s level clinician and do not do medication management of any kind. If you are interested in medications I typically encourage clients to discuss a referral through their PCP. I am of course happy to consult with your doctor or psychiatrist about your care.

Are you LGBTQI+ friendly?

Absolutely! I aim to offer a safe and queer-affirming space for those of all sexes, genders, identities, as well as those who are questioning.

Do you work with couples and individuals in ethically non-monogamous (ENM) relationships?

Yes! I routinely work with both “poly-curious” clients, as well as those who have already created a ENM agreement within their primary relationship. My goal is to support you and your partner in building the best relationship(s) for you, no matter what form that takes.

Do you take insurance?

I am not currently enrolled with any insurance providers. If you have a PPO plan with “out of network” benefits, you may be able to be reimbursed for a significant portion of the cost of treatment. I am happy to provide you with the documents needed to submit to your insurance provider.

How do I get started?

Please call or e-mail me directly to get started. I will conduct a brief 15 minute phone consultation with you. Following this call, we will plan to meet for 1-2 evaluation sessions (3-4 for couples) to determine your clinical needs and if you and I are likely to be a good fit.
